  A welcome experience generally. I had the lemon sole, my wife had the duck and we brought own: two opened bottles, one white, one red for which we were only charged one bottle's corkage ($5) The mains were both fine, served with vegetables not overcooked and neither was salty. We followed with a shared tiramisu which was authentic and moist. Service was very pleasant as was the atmosphere, if you don't mind a spot of light operetta pounding - just go with the flow.

  We had a really delicious meal and the service was very attentive. We sat out the front watching the comings and goings in the main street of Lightning Ridge. The pizzas were great. Good value too. Two big pizzas plus side salad and wine cost us less than the pub meals we'd eaten during our trip.

  We visited during the Easter festival, and decided to bypass the Bowling Club and try Bruno's. The place was understandably busy but we were offered a table in the back and then promptly forgotten. Eventually we gained the attention of the young waitress and she went off to find someone to take our order. An hour later another waitress came to ask us if we'd like anything else. "Our food would be nice" we said. Another 10 minutes passed before a more senior waitress came and apologised for the delay and claimed it would only be another 5 minutes, or we could just get a refund. She offered us some free drinks. Another 15 minutes passed before the food arrived. The food was OK. Nothing spectacular and nothing worth an hour and a half wait. The Somersby ciders were however delicious, but you can get those from the Club....which is where I suggest you go!
